Susan E. Maroon

Susan E. Maroon, 62, passed away at 9:14am on Monday, May 5, 2025, at her residence. She was born on August 27, 1962, in Alton, the daughter of Earl and Carol (Shewmake) Smith. She married Thomas Maroon on November 3, 1995, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2005. Survivors include her dad and her step mom: Earl and Alma Smith of South Roxana, her daughter and son in law: Amy and William Berkley of DeSoto, Illinois, three sons and two daughters in law: Thomas and Jessica Maroon of Wood River, Allan Maroon of Wood River, Ty and Olivia Maroon of Alton, two grandchildren: Landon, Fiona, two sisters and a brother in law: Cindy and Melvin Holmes of Alton, Penny Cook of South Roxana, a brother and sister in law: Mark and Shannon Smith of Russellville, Kentucky, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Susan was formerly employed as a line worker at Hershey's. Susan loved to laugh, dance, and was fun to be around. She loved spending time with her sisters.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, and a brother: Jeffery.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
