She was born September 19, 1962, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of James and Joanne Gitzy Missel. Sue worked for Condon Oil Company as an area store manager for many years. She was a charter member of the Poy Sippi Lions Club and was very active with all the activities and functions of the club. She enjoyed bowling and spending time socializing with her many family and friends.
She is survived by her partner, Michael Copeland; three sons, Alan (Heather) Springer, Dillon (Joni) Springer and Jonathan Ireland; eight grandchildren, Anabelle, Adalynn, Chandler, Houston, Ember, Connor, Carlee and Cannon; one brother, James Lawrence; one sister, Juli Ann Missel; and nieces, nephews and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Michael J. Missel.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. A memorial has been established.
