Susan Morrissey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Page Funeral Home - Burlington on Jan. 2, 2026.
Susan T. Morrissey, 83, of Delanco, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, with her three children by her side. Susan was born in October 1942 in London, England. Her early childhood was shaped by World War II and the subsequent rebuilding of the city where she was raised in a close and loving family. She remained deeply connected to her parents throughout her life and to her older sister, Janet Campbell-Taylor. After graduating from school in London, Susan worked as a bookkeeper. At the age of 24, she obtained a work visa and traveled to the United States with hopes of seeing the country and gaining new experiences. She met James "Jimmy" Morrissey on a blind date arranged by her sister shortly after arriving in the US. Susan and Jimmy were married for 49 years until his passing. Susan was a loving wife and mother. Together, she and Jimmy raised three children: Caroline, Christian, and JJ. The family faced early challenges, but Susan remained a steady and supportive presence in the home, devoted to the care and well-being of her family. A lifelong Catholic, Susan practiced her faith quietly throughout her life, attending Mass regularly and volunteering. Susan worked for a number of years in a medical office and was known for her professionalism and warmth. She also had a lifelong love of reading and maintained an active interest in music and family life. She was a proud grandmother to Connor, Lucas, and Gavin Megill, with whom she shared a close relationship. Susan is survived by her children; Caroline (Scott) Megill, Christian Morrissey, and James "JJ" Morrissey; her grandsons Connor, Lucas, and Gavin Megill; her sister Janet Campbell-Taylor; and her siblings-in-law Thomas J. Morrissey Jr., Rev. Paul Morrissey, S.M., Mary (Eddie) Dallmann, and Milissa Morrissey. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James "Jimmy" Morrissey. Visitation will be held on Monday January 5, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Page Funeral Home, 302 East Union Street, Burlington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 6, 2026 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 4th & Linden Avenue, Riverton, NJ. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. https://ahatribute.funraise.org/fundraiser/susan-t-morrissey
