Susan Pringle Mortensen sadly passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the age of 71. She had a brain bleed, a stroke at the dialysis clinic in Clovis, New Mexico. She was then sent to the hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was on life support and took her last breath surrounded by family. She had the opportunity to hear her loved one's goodbyes and even hear her granddaughter's laugh one last time... she is no longer in physical pain or suffering. She is finally at peace.
Susan was the wife of Don Leland Mortensen. They shared 30 years together. She was born in Dallas, Texas on January 8, 1953 and was the daughter of RJ and Mavis Pringle. She was raised in a funeral home as her father was funeral director, mortician. Susan was proud of her mother and father's work within the community. Her mom always dressed in heels and pearls every day. Susan graduated from Samuel High School class of 1970. She was employed at Southwestern Bell where she trained and gave presentations to companies on how to work their telephones. She worked for Hallmark Cards. She was a service representative for various products. She also worked for Hasbro and then Mattel as a merchandiser.
Susan enjoyed singing along to oldies with her daughters Mary Mortensen and Marla Brown. She liked playing trivia games with her family and loved to play Tetris and spades. She will be remembered for being a great communicator. She could talk with you all day long and had so many questions for everyone. She never encountered a stranger; she was a good friend to all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her and was always a call away. She had the honor of being a grandma for a year. She enjoyed every second she had with her grand baby.
Susan is survived by her husband Don Leland Mortensen; her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Mortensen and Marla Kay Brown; and granddaughter Hypatia Lee Mortensen Seymore.
She was preceded in death by her parents RJ and Mavis Pringle, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
