Susan Moses Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whitt Funeral Home & Oakcrest Cremation Center on Jun. 25, 2024.
Susan Kay Moses, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on June 21, 2024, in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness. A resident of Altus, Oklahoma, she was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Susan was born in Alice, Texas, on April 22, 1947 to Mercedes and John Curry, the second of three children. She grew up in Ft. Worth, and after moving to Oklahoma, graduated from Edmond High School in 1965. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central State University, was married in 1969, and started a family. Motherhood, and later grand motherhood, were her greatest joys in life. Susan loved to travel, and visited all around the world, including many countries in Europe, the British Isles, New Zealand, Fiji, and even an African safari. She also enjoyed cruising, painting ceramic figurines and on canvas, reading, and gardening. Susan loved children, and also had a passion for animals, especially dogs. She lived in Arizona for a time before settling in Altus a couple years before her death. She was a member of First Christian Church in Altus and loved sharing the Gospel whenever possible.
Susan is survived by her son John McLain of Richardson, TX; daughter Erin DeWolfe of Crestview, FL; grandson, Ryan DeWolfe of Anchorage, AK; granddaughter, Morgan DeWolfe of Crestview, FL; sister, Cynthia Challacombe of Frederick, OK; brother, James Curry of Altus, OK; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends. Susan leaves a legacy of love, faith, and laughter and impacted countless lives, and will be missed.
Services are planned for Friday, June 28 at 1pm, Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to First Christian Church in Altus, Oklahoma.
