Susan K. Schrock, 69, of Swink, Colorado passed away January 9, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 19, 1954, in La Junta, Colorado to Leland & Evelyn (Reynolds) Rhodes.
Susan graduated from Swink High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Tom Schrock, on December 30, 1972. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past December. To this union three children were born, Justin, Chad and Kassandra. They made their home in La Junta. Tom worked for ATSF Railroad and Susan was mainly a stay-at-home mom. When her kids were raised, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of having a career in nursing. She absolutely loved being a Registered Nurse. However, what gave her the most joy in her life was her grand angels, Kyle, Sydney, Cody, Brenton, Sari, Keegan, Aislynn, Maverick and McKinley. It was rare to have a conversation with her where they were not the topic of discussion.
Susan is survived by her husband, Tom Schrock; children, Justin (Shaunna) Schrock; Chad (Heather) Schrock; Kassie (Mike) Martin; nine grandchildren as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and her beloved Yorkie, Izzy. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Evelyn Rhodes, her brothers, grandparents, and numerous in-laws.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at The First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta, CO, with Reverend Mark Callister officiating. Services conclude at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Inc. (arkvalleyhospice.org) or to the First Church of the Nazarene (lajuntanazarene.org) direct or through the funeral home.
Online condolences may be made at www.PeacockFH.com. Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
