Susan “Susie” Marie Wagner (Berres), 77, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025 at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend. She was born on October 19, 1947 in West Bend to the late Gregory and Marie Berres.
Susan grew up in the St. Michaels area and graduated from Kewaskum High School. It was at a local dance where she met the love of her life, Ronald Wagner. The two united in marriage on August 2, 1966, at St. Michaels Catholic Church beginning a lifetime of shared memories.
For over 45 years, Susan dedicated herself to her work at the West Bend Company/Regal Ware, where she built lasting relationships and a legacy of hard work. A faithful member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. She lived her faith through her kindness and devotion to family.
A woman of simple joys, Susan found happiness in the beauty of nature. She delighted in feeding and watching the birds and wildlife that visited her yard, and her green thumb was evident in her vibrant flower beds and the countless houseplants that filled her home with life. She loved exploring farmers’ markets, flea markets, plant sales, and rummage sales, always on the hunt for a treasure to bring home. Above all, Susan treasured her time with her grandchildren and adored her grand dogs, Levi and Murphy, who brought her endless happiness.
The family extends a special thank you to Serenity Villa in Campbellsport for their excellent care of Sue over the past couple of months. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Bob Wenzlaff for his kindness in taking Sue out to eat and caring for her.
She is survived by her son, Marvin (Terri) Wagner of West Bend; three beloved grandchildren, Bradley of West Bend, Cassie (Andreas) Wagner of Vermont, and Allen of West Bend; her special friend, Bob Wenzlaff; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory forward.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wagner; her brothers, Richard (Marion) Berres and Roger Berres; her sister, Audrey Bath; sisters-in-law, Pat (Wilton) Kirchner and Lucille (Mike) Strupp; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Virginia) Wagner and Jerry Wagner; and a grand dog, Polar.
VISITATION: Sue’s family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service (1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend).
FUNERAL SERVICE: Following visitation at 5:00 p.m. there will be a funeral service for Sue at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, with Father Kevin Harmon officiating. Burial will take place in Washington County Memorial Park on Friday, March 28, 2025.
Susan’s warmth, love of nature, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the blooms she tended and the lives she touched. In honor of Susie, her family suggests thinking of her when the first flowers bloom and on nice summer days.
The family also would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend, for their compassionate care for Sue in these last days.
