Susan B. Williams (née Browne) passed away on December 14th, 2025 at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. Born in Crown Point, NY to Robert Browne and Alice Browne, Susan grew up in Ithaca with her older brothers David and Richard.
Upon graduating from Ithaca High School, she took courses in journalism at Syracuse University. She then settled into a long, productive career as an administrative assistant at the Cornell School of Veterinary Medicine, retiring in 2000.
Susan was preceded in death by second husband William Petrillose and first husband Gerald Williams, with whom she had her surviving daughter Stacy Williams. She is also survived by brothers David and Richard.
Susan will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, and friend. Her compassion for others, human and animal alike, knew no bounds. Her insights, wit, and dark humor will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Susan in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Tompkins County SPCA, from which Susan and Stacy adopted their cats Dusty, Simon, Maggie, and Missy.
