Every year on the 18th of December I wished Susan a happy birthday. "Happy Birthday Susan, wherever you are"! We attended Kohn School together and we used to give out candy for our birthdays on successive days (mine was the 19th). When you are a kid, it seemed neat to have birthday so close together. So, after Susan left Kohn for another school, I continued the tradition for years after. It was kind of a tribute to the very cute girl who shared class with me for such a short time. So, for one last time, happy birthday Susan. I know now where you are. Bless you!

One of our very favorite Styx-related memories was visiting with Susan before a show in October of 2003 in St. George, Utah. It was just us and Susan in the green room for about 30-45 minutes, and she could not have been more kind, warm and charming. Watched a good portion of the show with her from the wings at stage right as well. It was obvious from that night and all the subsequent conversations we've had with JY over the years, just how perfect you were for each other. We are sending our most heartfelt condolences to JY, and the entire Styx family, at this time.

Deep sadness and condolences to JY and family. Susie was my very best friend for decades. She had a wonderful spirit, sassy sense of humor and deep sense love for so many people. When she walked into a room most people broke out in a smile, and she may have made some humorous comment which added to the smiles. Susie worked hard for decades to overcome her medical diagnosis, and she always tried to rise above the hand she had been dealt. I miss her with all my heart and will continue to remember the thousands of amazing and fun moments we shared. RIP Susie.
