Susan Michelle Zimmer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Michelle Zimmer on September 4th, 2025. Born on July 4th, 1968, Sue was 57. She resided in Canton with her fiancé, Ronald Lucus, and was preceded in death by her son, Dustin Alan Zimmer; mother, Grace D. Stanko, and father, Michael Steven Stanko. Sue is survived by her daughter, Karen Lynn Zimmer; fiancé, Ronnie; brother, Matthew Stanko, as well as numerous close cousins and friends.

Sue was a 1986 graduate of Perry High School and spent much of her life in the service industry, notably at Parasson's in Akron and Pizza Oven in Canton, Ohio, where she worked for many years. Whether at work or at home, she was always well-known for her cooking but surprised everyone when, later in life, she also became "The Baker" of the family. Active in her animal-rescue community, Sue cherished her pets and she leaves behind her beloved dog, Meathead. Her strong, fun-loving personality, quick wit and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the professionals at University Hospitals and Seidman Cancer Center for the tender care they provided to her through her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Susan's name to the Stark County Humane Society.
