Susann Mlynarski

Susann Mlynarski, aged 80, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025. Born on November 28, 1944, in Utica, New York, to Frederick and Julianna Macek, Susann grew up with her sisters Fredericka and Jayne. She worked at a local bakery while attending Utica Free Academy. After high school, she earned a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Studies from Utica College and completed her graduate studies in Early Childhood Education at SUNY Cortland.
In 1971, Susann married Raymond Mlynarski, and together they shared a life filled with love, friendship, and travel. They enjoyed trips to Longboat Key, Italy, Poland, and other destinations, and cherished adventures to Maine, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, and Disney World with their daughter Lisa and her husband Chris.
Susann was a dedicated and compassionate teacher, inspiring her students to strive for excellence. She taught at St. Mary's in New York Mills, St. Peter's in North Utica, and the Rome City School District, including first grade at Denti Elementary and fourth grade at John E. Joy Elementary.
Susann is survived by her daughter Lisa and her husband Chris Davis, her sister Freddi, Ray's Aunt Christine Kolek and her family, nieces Laurie Gove and Andrea Fitzpatrick, brother-in-law Joseph Sheber, nephew Joel Meyers, her beloved Benjamin, and her faithful cat companion Joseph. She was predeceased by her husband Ray, her parents Fred and Judy Macek, her in-laws Joe and Wilma Mlynarski, her sister Jayne Meyers, and her sister-in-law Mary Sheber.
In accordance with Susann's wishes, services will remain private, and burial will be at the convenience of the family. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Wolanin Funeral Home, 266 Main Street, New York Mills, NY 13417.
