Susie Pack Griffith, 87, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, in Cheraw, South Carolina, after a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2024 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Teal with burial to follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Susie was born on May 18, 1937, in Sumter, South Carolina. She had the best parents anyone could ever have, J.C. Pack and Reba Hodge Pack.
She met and married the love of her life, Dave Griffith, Sr. in 1952. Shortly thereafter, Dave and Susie settled in Cheraw, South Carolina where they raised their five children.
Susie was known for her wonderful home-cooked meals (from scratch), and even better were her delicious cakes – especially her 10-layer chocolate cake and her pound cakes. She loved her rose garden and had huge vegetable gardens every year. But most importantly, Susie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and even a great-great-grandmother! She was loving and kind to everyone she met and was a wonderful friend to many. She will be greatly and forever missed.
Susie was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, her parents, and her brother, Bobby Pack. She is survived by her five children: Pamela G. Daily (Jim), Dave Griffith, Jr. (Janice), Wanda G. Inman (Jim), Jeff Griffith (Liz), and Mark Griffith; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Griffith; her grandchildren: Jay Lisenby, Josh Lisenby, Hillary Daily (Shayne), Tatum Daily, Quentin Griffith, and Carrie Jewart (Nathan); her great-grandchildren: Annajo Smith (Justin), Zachary Lisenby, Addyson Jewart, and Mackenzie Jewart; and her great-great-granddaughter: Louisa Lalumiere. She is also survived by her siblings, Diane P. Johnson, and Ronnie Pack, Sr. (Judy); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thanks from the family to: Dr. Toney Graham; Hope Funderburke, R.N. hospice; everyone who took care of her at Cheraw Healthcare and Rehabilitation – especially Nurse Sarah; and special longtime friends Sue D. Funderburke, Debbie D. Wright, and Marilyn D. Caulder for their love, prayers, and visits.
