Obituary published on Legacy.com by Knapp Funeral Home - Watseka on Apr. 2, 2024.
Suzann Marie Hamerski passed away on 3-27-24, with her loving caregivers from the Arc of Iroquois County around her at her Cila (home) in Watseka, Ill. She was born on 5-7-1964 to Julian and Elizabeth Hamerski in Charleston, Illinois. Suzann had loving parents and 5 siblings. While growing up, Suzann went to a Day Program in Charleston, called CCAR and thrived there. Suzann's parents move her to Watseka, Ill. In 1991, which offered Suzann more opportunities under the Arc of Iroquois County programs for Individuals with Special Needs. Suzann lived in her Cila (house) with many wonderful roommates over those many years. Suzann had wonderful staff and caregivers through the Arc of Iroquois County, who provided Suzann with the best quality of life for someone born with special needs.
Suzann loved the many adventures she had provided by her caregivers. She loved to be in her swing outside and loved the warm sun on her face. Suzann also loved to go to Steak and Shake. She loved seeing them bring her a Milkshake.
Preceding Suzann in death, were her parents, Julian and Elizabeth Hamerski, sister, Patrice Hamerski, Aunt Delores and Aunt Margaret, plus grand-parents, other Aunts and Uncles.
Survivors include sisters: Julann (spouse-Jack), Mary Beth and Francine. One Brother, Tony (wife-Debbie), Nephews: Jason, Greg, Aaron and Bryan.
Special thanks go out to Suzann's many caregivers at Suzann's CILA (house). Also, thanks to the many other staff at the Arc of Iroquois County for their love and support of Suzann over the years. Suzann's sister, Julann, wishes to thank IMH Hospice, especially Nurse- Carley for her care of Suzann & her caregivers. Suzann will be missed by her housemates. Many thanks to Suzann's parents, Julian & Elizabeth Hamerski, and her sisters, Patrice and Julann, as Suzann's Guardians.
Cremation rites are being handled by Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Private Memorial Services will be held at The Arc of Iroquois County in Watseka, IL on Wednesday, 4-10-24, to Celebrate Suzann's Life. A private burial to follow at Body Cemetery in Woodland, IL.
