Suzanna Mirelez Obituary

Suzanna Marie Mirelez was born in Houston, TX on August 27, 1986 and was welcomed by parents Leo and Mickey Mirelez and older sister Adelee.

As a child, Suzie, as she was called by friends and loved ones, enjoyed trips to the family's favorite hamburger stand. She attended schools in the Cypress Fairbanks (Cy-Fair) Independent School District in Houston. Suzie was undoubtedly a "daddy's girl." She and her father grew a strong bond which continued into adulthood as she helped with his landscaping business and spawned special traditions including a daily 6:30 am coffee date and smoking a cigar on New Year's Day.

Suzie was a loving mother to three incredible children, Achilles (15), Storm (11) and Atticus (8). A Scouts enthusiast, she registered all of her children in local Boy Scouts troops, and enjoyed helping them with the camping and car race events. She dedicated herself to her kids serving as their protector, nurturer and a cheerleader. She found joy in seeing them grow and pursue their individual interests.

From an early age, Suzie was self-assured and known for her sense of humor and candor. Not prone to worries, she chose to focus on the things she could control, which included her set list for karaoke and planning for her two favorite holidays: Halloween and New Year's Day. Her love for animals was unmatched – at one point opening her home to five dogs and ultimately welcoming two ferrets, a bearded dragon and a snake. She was also known to take in wounded squirrels, feeding them and allowing them to heal before releasing them back into nature.

She served as a paraeducator at Black Elementary in Cy-Fair ISD, and was recognized as the Paraeducator of the Year in 2024. Her work brought her joy, especially her responsibilities as a handler for Lenny, a black labrador who served as the school's campus support dog.

Suzie had a strong personality and presence but those things were overshadowed by her big heart. She loved deeply and nurtured the relationships that meant the most to her. She valued community and modeled for others how to give back to others. She was a devoted volunteer in the Cy-Fair Bonaire community (Municipal District 69) where she worked alongside staff and officers of Harris County Constable Precinct 4.

Suzie's incredible sense of humor and laugh, passion, kindness, dedication, and love for her fellow "neighbor" will have a lasting impact on everyone who encountered her.

Suzie leaves to cherish her memories: her children: Achilles, Storm and Atticus; her parents: Leo and Mickey Mirelez; sister Adelee Mirelez; nieces: Emmee and Ellee Licir; and a host of family, cherished friends and colleagues
