Suzanne Louise Mackey, 53, of 4B Harwood Road, Hudson, NH died Monday September 2, 2002 at home with her family. Born in Boston, MA on August 29, 1949 the daughter of the late Edward J and Mary F (Walsh) Mackey. She was raised in Dorchester and attended grammar school at St. Mark’s Church in Dorchester. She graduated in 1968 from the Cardinal Cushing School in South Boston. Ms. Mackey was a resident of Hudson for 23 years, previously she lived in Boca Raton, Florida for 10 years.

Ms. Mackey worked as a cashier at Shaw’s Supermarket at the Sagamore Ridge Plaza in Nashua for the past 13 years. She had also owned her own drapery business for over 30 years. She started Draperies by Suzanne while she was living in Boca Raton, Florida. When she moved to Hudson she opened Draperies by Suzanne in Hudson.

She was a communicant of St. Kathryn Church in Hudson. Ms. Mackey was an avid bingo player. She loved football especially the Miami Dolphins. Suzanne was a lover of cats, gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor F (Mackey) Stone and her brother, Allen W Mackey.

Surviving family members include her companion of 33 years, Hervey W. Berube of Hudson, NH; 2 sisters, Nancy J (Mackey) Langevin and her husband James of Norton, MA; and Mary C (Mackey) Cluett of Quincy, MA; 6 brothers, Edward J Mackey and his wife Bette of Quincy, MA, George F Mackey and his wife Sandy of Hudson, NH, Richard J Mackey and his wife Denise of Quincy, Daniel T Mackey and his wife Sylvia of Randolph, MA, Robert P Mackey and his wife Deborah of North Attleboro, MA and William J Mackey of Dorchester, MA and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. MACKEY- Died Sept. 2, 2002 in Hudson, NH, Suzanne L Mackey. Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 Kinsley St, Nashua, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Rd.,Hudson, NH. Visiting Hours are Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery, Attleboro, MA at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 State Rte 10, Ste 501, Bedford, NH 03110. The last time we met we wished each other good luck because she told me she had cancer and I told her I had leukemia.Now her problems are over and she is resting in the arms of God.We will surely miss her and her smile.
