ALBANY - Suzanne C. O'Neill entered Eternal Life, Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was the daughter of the late William J. Clifford and Agnes D. Clifford. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John P. O'Neill; her daughter, Jennifer A. O'Neill; her sons, John C. (Jenny) O'Neill and Peter O'Neill; her brother, William J. (Barbara) Clifford; her grandchildren, Margaret O'Neill, Elizabeth O'Neill, William O'Neill, Laurina O'Neill, and Julia O'Neill; her brother-in-law, Thomas H. O'Neill and his wife, Bernice; several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.
Suzanne was born in Albany, N.Y., on February 19, 1943. She spent most of her childhood years in Rensselaer, returning to Albany in 1960. She graduated from St. John's Academy in 1960 and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Suzanne was the President of her nursing school graduating class. Suzanne worked as an RN at Albany Memorial Hospital in 1963 and later worked for Dr. Leo Collins in the fields of Obstetrics/Gynecology. After Dr. Collins retired in 1973, she concentrated on raising her own children and became a stay-at-home mom for a few years. She eventually went back to work part-time for the Albany City School District as a substitute school nurse. In 1980, she returned to work part-time as a pediatric nurse for Dr. Jeffrey Schumacher, where she was employed until retirement in 2005. Suzanne possessed a loving heart and was a tender, warm, and understanding person to everyone she met. She was a great wife to John and an equally great mother to her children. Throughout her life, she gave totally of herself to her family and her chosen profession. For many years, she volunteered in activities and organization at St. Catherine of Siena Parish and School (now The Parish of Mater Christi).
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Suzanne's family Friday, December 19, 2025, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, N.Y. 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only.
Funeral services Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., (Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Way), Albany, N.Y. 12208, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer, N.Y., immediately following the Mass.
