Suzanne Lee Rees

Suzanne Lee (French) Rees, 89, of West Hartford, passed peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, surrounded by family.
Suzanne was born in Hartford, CT, on June 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Clarence and Etta French, and sister to her surviving brother, William (Wallis) French, of Spring Hill, FL.
Besides her love for animals, music, the arts, and travel, Suzanne's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a sweet and loving mother to Gwyneth (Alan) Arace-Topolski, Jennifer Wittstein and her partner Larry, and Catherine (Russell) Dionne. She was also a devoted grandmother to Nicholas (Suteng) Arace, Benjamin Arace, Jonathan Arace, Alexander Wittstein, Sydney Wittstein, LT Matthew Dionne, and LT Samuel Dionne, and great-grandmother to Amelia Arace.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her loving husband Howie, whom she married on September 24, 1960, and who passed away on September 16, 2010.
Our family finds comfort in knowing that Suzanne's legacy lives on through the love and lessons she shared with us. We will cherish her memory forever.
Visitation will be Friday, November 14, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a brief Funeral Service at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will be private. A family memorial celebration will be held in the spring for those unable to attend the funeral.
