Suzanne Routhier

Suzanne Routhier, 79, of Harwich passed away November 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born to Robert Winston and Susan (Barber) Winston, Suzanne was a life long resident of Harwich. Her roots, her memories and her heart were deeply tied to the community she called home. She was a Beautician for over 50 years, working at Virginia's and opening up Virginia's New Image and Suzanne & Co. She finished up her career at Shampoo in Dennisport where she worked until earlier this year.

She was the matriarch and glue to her very large extended family. We knew her as Sue, Mom, Mommy or Memere - she was so many things to so many people. She attended every sporting event regardless of whether it was one of her own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins or any of their close friends. The door to her home was always open whether you needed food (macaroni & cheese or chocolate chip cookies every Wednesday), a ride, a haircut or just a hug.

She is predeceased by her sisters Anita Brown and Lori McGillivray and leaves behind two sisters Robbie Winston and Andi O'Neil. Suzanne also leaves behind three children and their spouses - Holly Holmes (Ronnie), Pugga Routhier (Melissa) and Daryl Routhier (Dawn) along with seven grandsons - Tyler Holmes, Ayden Holmes, Dylan Routhier, Jamie Routhier, Logan Routhier, Jacob Routhier, Luke Routhier and four great grandchildren - Grayson Holmes, Atlas Holmes, Gabriella Holmes and Samantha Holmes. She also leaves two nephews and a niece who were like grandchildren to her - Bobby McGillivray, Susannah Brown and Zack Souza along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins that she adored. Of course we can't forget the many close friends who she cherished.

Suzanne's non judgemental and compassionate nature was second to none. She knew everyone, who their parents, grandparents and siblings were and what street they grew up on. Her grace and courage in her three year battle against cancer were exceptional. She never complained and never let it interrupt her work, the gym or time with family & friends. She was a mentor to many, a friend to all and a perfect mother/grandmother.

Those who knew her will cherish the love, kindness and steady presence she offered so generously. She will be dearly missed.
