Suzanne Marie Trapp

Trapp, Suzanne Marie (Sharrow). December 31, 2023. Age 91 of Woodhaven. Known as 'Sweet Salad Sue' to family and friends, she always had a beautiful smile and extra love to share. Survived by her sisters, Jeanne McInnis and Ellie Sharrow (Bob Shaw), children Bob (Janet), Ken (Kathleen), Theresa (Joe) Theisen. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Larry, and infant daughter, Julie. Born in 1932 to Stewart Sharrow and Vera Nelson, she graduated from St. Paul High School in 1950 and earned her BA in Journalism from Wayne State University in 1991, after raising her family. Sue was a Beta Sigma Phi member, Forest Park Elementary School PTA president and member, Detroit Edison office clerk, and a writer at The News Herald. She took excellent care of her true love, Larry, during his later years with patience and grace. She loved spending time with family, visiting Crystal Lake in Beulah, enjoying concerts, playing solitaire, and was greatly inspired by Blessed Solanus Casey. Sue was on a first name basis with the Lord as she prayed often for her loved ones. Sue had a passion for music. She played piano and supported her sons on their musical journeys through years of guitar and drum lessons and performances. She was a member of the Woodhaven High School Band Boosters and drove kids and equipment to many events. Whether you were just meeting her, a dear old friend, or a forgotten face, she had kindness to share and offered a hand to hold.
