MORTON – Suzanne K. Vetter, 97, of Morton, passed away, Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born on July 11, 1926, in San Jose, Ill., to Robert and Irma (Baker) Barnard. Suzanne married William Vetter on May 31, 1947, in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2014. She was also preceded in death by two sisters.
Surviving are daughter, Marla (Michael) Schreibung of Elgin, Ill.; son, Michael (Carole) Vetter of Springfield; daughter, Pamela (Dave) Schurter of Morton; seven grandchildren, Nadine Sawa, Nora (Bill) Crawford, Timothy (Kathi) Vetter, Carrie Wright, Mark (Tasha) Schurter, Luke (Susanne) Schurter and Dawn Schurter and 19 great grandchildren.
Suzanne enjoyed playing golf with both the Fondulac and Pine Lakes golf leagues. She sang with Belles of Harmony, Ecu-Keys, and Illinois Central College Chamber Singers.
Suzanne was a member of Grace Church, where she participated in the choir ministry.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Grace Church in Morton, with Pastor Gary Roseboom and Pastor Tim Bertsche officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 1, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to Grace Church in Morton.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
