Suzanne Schorr Westwater, 99, formerly of Winchester, MA, died November 12, 2025 in Vero Beach, Florida. Sue was born June 20, 1926 and was raised in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Friend's Select High School and received her BA in politics at the University of Wisconsin before meeting her husband, Robert Westwater. They raised their 3 children in Winchester, MA.

After her children were raised, she worked as a personnel recruiter. She returned to Philadelphia where she edited a nationally distributed Insider's Report on policy and legislation for the healthcare department of an international CPA firm. Following that, she worked as a legal secretary in NYC.

In addition to her family, Sue's greatest love was opera, and she was instrumental in the formation of the Boston Opera Group. Sue also was proud of her lifelong membership in the Enka Society, a charitable organization serving the town where she raised her family. Sue was an avid tennis player and volunteer; inspiring girl scouts, teaching children to read, visiting infirm residents in her community among others.

Sue is survived by her three children, Patty Westwater-Jong of Bolton MA and her partner Noble Larson, Don Westwater and his wife Kathy Carey of Arlington, MA, Amy Pennington and her husband Bruce of Walnut Creek, CA; 6 grandchildren: Jess and Alex; Emma and Jed; Sarah and Zoe; and 1 great grandchild: Maddie, and many nieces and nephews.

An informal celebration of her life will be held at the Indian River Estates at a later date.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the staff appreciation fund at Indian River Estates, Vero Beach, FL (772) 562 7400, who took such great care of Sue during her 21 years at IRE or a charity of your choice.
