Sybil Horton Stonecypher

Sybil Horton Stonecypher, age 94, formerly of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation in Jamestown, Kentucky. Born Friday, August 7, 1931, in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Allen & Dollie Goble Horton. Sybil was the widow of the late Raleigh Felix Stonecypher, whom she married Friday, July 2, 1948, and preceded her in death Thursday, February 20, 2020. Sybil worked, for many years, as a seamstress for Cowden's Manufacturing and Palm Beach. Sybil was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, and camping.

Sybil leaves behind one son, Pat Stonecypher (Patty) of Columbia, Kentucky; one daughter, Teawanna Upton of Somerset, Kentucky; one son-in-law, Marshall Hayden of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Chad Robertson (Joy), Shaun Robertson (Kelly), Shane Stonecypher (Michele), Eric Stonecypher (Kim) and Tristan Upton; nine great-grandchildren, Trevor Stonecypher (Payton), Michaela Conner (Ryan), Tanner Stonecypher (Kierra), Wyatt Stonecypher, Audie Stonecypher, Garrett Robertson, Keagan Robertson, Gabby Robertson and Carson Robertson; one great-great grandson due August 2026, Eldridge Grey Stonecypher; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sybil was preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Hayden; and two brothers, Wallace Horton and Carl Horton.

Public Visitations will be held 5-8PM Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and 9-11AM Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Church.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 11AM Wednesday, at the church. Bro. Johnny Baker & Bro. David Conrades will officiate the service. Music will be provided by Bro. Kerry Jones. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Sybil's memorial page of the funeral home's website.

Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Chad Robertson, Shaun Robertson, Shane Stonecypher, Eric Stonecypher, Tristan Upton, Trevor Stonecypher, and Tanner Stonecypher will serve as Active Pallbearers. Michaela Conner, Wyatt Stonecypher, Audie Stonecypher, Garrett Robertson, Keagan Robertson, Gabby Robertson, Carson Robertson, and Marshall Hayden will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
