Sydney Erin Maynard

Sydney Erin Maynard, 22, of Yuma, Ariz., passed away on December 15, 2025. Born in Stafford County, Va., Sydney graduated from Stafford Senior High School in 2021 and went on to earn her Associate Degree in Business Administration from Germanna Community College.

Sydney moved to Yuma, Ariz., in pursuit of her dreams and goals, returning home whenever she could to spend cherished time with the family and friends she loved so deeply. She had a profound appreciation for the outdoors, fishing along the Rappahannock River, snowboarding in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and exploring the wide-open deserts of Arizona.

Sydney leaves behind many memories but will now be with her Lord Jesus Christ.

Sydney is survived by her Dandad, Bruce E. Maynard; mom, Rebecca T. Maynard; dad, Matthew K. Maynard; brother, Cullen Y. Maynard; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins that shaped her into the loving person she became. Sydney also had many families and friends that loved her as if she were their own daughter or their sister. Sydney was preceded in death by her Mimi, Baerbel K. Maynard; Papa, Braxton W. Dawson; and Nana, Norma Y. Dawson. Her immediate family remains eternally grateful for the love, guidance, and support given by those who helped Sydney flourish throughout her life.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sydney's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
