Sylvia Kathryn (Flom) Masters passed away on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at the Pine River Good Samaritan Sanford Health assisted living community. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Masters of Pine River, MN, mother and father, Ida and Hans Flom, her sister, Irene (Flom) Brown of Bagley, MN, and her sister, Ina (Flom) France of Pine City, MN.
She is survived by her nieces, Kathryn McKeen of St. Louis Park, MN, and Elizabeth Nord of Bremerton, WA, and nephew, Vincent France from Omaha, NE, along with several great nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was born in Bagley, MN, on July 27th, 1931, and graduated from Bagley High School in 1949. She attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and graduated with a 2-year degree. She was married to Donald Masters on October 12th,1968, and lived for a brief time in Minneapolis before moving and settling in Pine River, MN. She held various bookkeeping positions throughout the years, and she and Donald enjoyed many visits from family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, baking and taking walks around Pine River. She really loved the people and town of Pine River and was also very proud of her Norwegian heritage.
A memorial service for Sylvia will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Brenny-Kline Funeral Home in Pine River. There will be a visitation the half hour prior to the service.
