On August 2, 2024, at the age of 78, this amazing woman took her final journey to her forever home. She will be missed dearly. She is reunited again with her husband Jeff Baker who made his journey on October 17, 2022, and her son Lloyd Douglas who made his journey on July 8, 2024.
She is survived by her son Woody Douglas (Candice), her daughter Sky Ricketts (Jason), her brother David Bates (Barbara), and her many grand and great-grandchildren. Which she cherished and loved unconditionally. She would attend her grandchildren’s school, soccer, swimming, baseball, volleyball and other events whenever she could.
Sylvia was a stubborn woman but would do anything she could for you. She was an extremely hard worker and took pride in everything she did. From her years in hog farming, food service at various colleges and restaurants, to her garden, and her crafts that she made to sell at flea markets on the weekends. She enjoyed canning her own food and made the best salsa, jelly, and frozen strawberries that everyone will miss.
Sylvia always welcomed a new member of the family with open arms. She made you feel like you had been a part of her family from the beginning of time. It did not matter if you were divorced, separated, or other, she expected you to come to holiday meals.
If you had the chance to know this amazing lady during her lifetime, then she left you with some unforgettable memories and you may have learned new skills she taught you. She will be missed and loved dearly….
