Hammond
Sylvia Barker, age 87, of Hammond, entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, January 19, 2026.
She is survived by three daughters; Linda (Michael) Radakovich, Theresa Sanchez, and Cathy (Chris) Lexow; four grandchildren: Natalie (Nick) Ullrich, Emily Lexow, Erik Radakovich, and Jacqueline Radakovich; two great-grandchildren: Imogen Lexow and Ivan Ullrich; one sister Irene (late Francisco) Lopez; sister-in-law, Jolene (late Robert) Camacho; numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Elmo Barker; parents, Refugio and Andrellita Camacho; siblings: Leroy (Gloria) Chavez, Barbara Hendrick, Raul (Shirley) Camacho, Yolanda (Bobby) Barker, Helen (Tony) Kusiak, Robert Camacho, and Ruben Camacho.
Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m., at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) IN. Burial will take place Monday at 2 p.m. at Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Greens Fork, IN.
Sylvia was born in Hammond and was a lifelong resident of northwest Indiana. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She simply loved spending time with and taking care of her family. Her hobbies would include cooking, baking, taking care of all the children in the family and crocheting. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Alzheimer's Association at http://act.alz.org/goto/ForMamaw would be appreciated.
