Sylvia K Bernardelli

Sylvia K. Bernardelli, 79, of Whitehall, formerly of Hellertown, PA, and Carteret, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 11,2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Arthur N. Bernardelli, who recently passed away on September 19, 2025, and was previously married to Frank Gulick, who passed away years prior. Born in Austria, she was the daughter of the late Olga Bengston. Sylvia formerly attended St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church in Carteret, NJ.

Before retiring, she worked in banking, Rahway State Prison, the county sheriff's office as well as she was the Director of Welfare, overseeing public assistance programs. She will be remembered for her love of bingo, traveling and going on cruises. Sylvia led a very active social life, especially with her friends.

Sylvia is survived by her sisters, Joann Fichter, wife of the late Gary Whitehall, Rosalinda Morgan and her husband, Jay of Boston, MA; nieces Jaclyn E. Sacks and her husband, Jeffrey of Northhampton, Jessica A. Motley and her husband, James of Bethlehem, Jennifer M. Fichter of North Hampton; great nieces and nephews, Jameson, Jocelyn, Joanna, Savannah and Jaxson; step daughter, Melissa Montali and her husband, Michael of Easton; step grandchildren, Michael and Lydia; and predeceased by her stepson, Anthony Bernardelli.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic church in Carteret, NJ from 9:15 AM till service. Divine Liturgy will be at 10 AM with Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Funeral Arrangements were held under the care of Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, NJ.
