Sylvia Dennis

We gather here today to celebrate the life and legacy of a truly remarkable woman, Sylvia Evon Dennis, affectionately known as Sylv. Born on March 2, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, she passed away on July 27, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, kidney disease, and cardiac arrest.
Sylvia was a woman of great strength, shaped by her early experiences working on a farm, where she learned the values of hard work and simplicity. She established a successful housekeeping business, reflecting her dedication to excellence and service done with grace.
A woman of profound faith, Sylvia drew inspiration from spiritual leaders and instilled the importance of love, faith and family in her children.In 1970 she met and married her first love, James Dennis, who preceded her in death, and was blessed with two beautiful daughters Cinderella and Sophia Dennis. In 1984 she met Rico Telsin and together they welcomed their children Brad and Jeanie Telsin nurturing a partnership that lasted until her final days
Sylvia was the proud matriarch of a loving family, including her children, Cinderella Dennis, Sophia Dennis, Brad Telsin, and Jeanie Telsin. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Malik Lewis, Anthony Knight, Christian Dennis, Alliyah Landfair, Janae Dennis, Tyler Riley, Niaisha Lewis and Daniel Lewis and great-grandchildren Auriyah, Aycen, Aniyah, Avani and Malachi.
Known for her culinary skills, Sylvia's kitchen was a sanctuary where her cooking nourished both body and soul. She was a beacon of love and kindness, and her life served as an inspiring testament to faith and devotion.
