Passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025 at age of 100 years. Preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Leo. Sylvia was born in Northwestern Minnesota. At the age of 17 she left home and came to Minneapolis where she completed her education to become a nurse in 1947. After World War II Sylvia married Leo Dorf on January 28, 1949. They moved to Eden Prairie, where they raised their four children, Kathy Grinsteinner (Woody), Linda Kahl (Doug), Michael (Jolene) and Jim (Dana Christesen).

She had a garden and did a lot of canning. She also enjoyed bowling with her co-workers. She and Leo were active in the Chanhassen Legion or they helped with preparation for Friday's fish fries. She also like traveling to Colorado to visit Linda and Doug and to see her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing in her younger years and watching Lawrence Welk. She and Leo also had a cabin in Merrifield where they spent many weekends along with family and friends.

Survived by her grandchildren, Jessica, Byron and Teresa, Kelsey, Elliot and Spencer and Lisa; great-grandchildren, Owen and Isla, Geoff and Scott, Jaxton, Tanner, Aaron, Serenity, Reed, Kirsten, Sophie, Lily and Bryant; great-great-grandchildren, Kai and Evelyn.

We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Artis and Midwest Hospice for taking such good care of our Mom. You made these last 2 1/2 years very special for her.

The funeral will be held Monday, September 15th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights, MN. Visitation at 9:00 with service following this at 9:30 AM. At 10:45 we will line up at Fort Snelling for interment at 11:00. A reception will follow from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Chanhassen Legion, 290 Lake Dr. E., Chanhassen.

No flowers please. If you choose donations, they can be sent to the Chanhassen American Legion.
