Sylvia Elliott Obituary
Sylvia was born to Roy and Hazel Hays on April 23, 1944. She was joined by 6 brothers and one sister. She is survived by 2 of those brothers; Bruce and Ted, both of Gray Hawk and Shiela Richardson of Berea and 20 nieces and nephews, her sons, Kevin (Brigette) Elliott and David (Rebecca) Elliott, grandchildren Sean, Elizabeth and Scott Elliott. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 5 brothers and their wives; Lewis, Bill (Jean), Leo, Glen (Evelyn), Kenny and Dallas.
Sylvia did several jobs to meet financial needs when she school was out. She worked as a tow motor driver for Lexmark for a year and as store manager at Cato"s for three years. She returned to teaching in 1984 and retired in 2008 due to health issues.
Any contributions can be made to Jackson Co. Cancer Society. Money will go directly to families with housing, utilities and food needs.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26, from 6-8 pm at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home and a graveside service on Friday, February 27 at 2:00 pm at the Hays Cemetery in McKee. KY.
