Sylvia Hertel Obituary
Sylvia Margaret Hertel passed away on February 5, 2025 in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Sylvia was born to Leonard Jacob Hertel and Estella Marie Louise “Stella” Hertel (née Hueners) on June 23, 1949 in McLaughlin, South Dakota.
She graduated from Lead High School, Lead, South Dakota, in 1967, and over the following 20 years, attended San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas, and Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, where she studied history, philosophy, sociology, and American Indian studies.
She published 2 books: Hertel Family, South Dakota Genealogy Trails, McPhearson County, Feb. 19, 2014, and Jacob and Rosina (Kraenzler) Hertel Descendants, Self-published · Jan 1, 1989.

A service will be held May 17, 2025 at Bear Lake Cemetery, Freeborn County, Minnesota.
