Sylvia Ann Jennings passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 6, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Paul Houston King and Mary Marlene King.
Born in Spartanburg, SC with a natural, joyful spirit, Sylvia was known for her kindness, her generosity, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her home was a safe haven for all the kids in the neighborhood, a place where they knew they were cared for and could always find a warm smile and open arms. Sylvia will be deeply missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and all who were blessed to know her.
She attended Dorman High School. Sylvia dedicated many years of her life working as a certified Nursing Assistant caring for others with a gentle heart.
Sylvia had a gift for making a little go a long way. She was wonderfully frugal, a master of coupons, and always loved finding a good deal. She enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos.
She is survived by her mother Mary Marlene King; two daughters: Christina King and Alicia Jennings; four grandchildren: Hope Bridwell, Jessica Bridwell, Levi Cox and Coltyn Cash; one great granddaughter, Hazel Olisky; and niece, Morgan King Watt. She was predeceased by her father, Paul Houston King and her brother, Richard King.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her two friends who stood by her and cared for her during her final days, Ann Saunders and Brittany Glass.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
