Sylvia Jones Obituary

Sylvia "Jane" Jones, 81 of Loudon, passed peacefully at UT Medical Center on Monday, January 19th, 2026. Jane was a devout Christian and a member of Blairland Baptist Church since May 3rd, 1959, the same day she was baptized. If Jane were not reading her Bible, she would be reading her favorite mysteries written by John Grisham or Lilian Braun. She was a woman of various talents, excelling at cross-stitch, baking, and math. But her personality was even more well-known; she was often described as sweet, strong, determined, forgiving, and, most importantly, loving.

She was a successful loan underwriter sought by many companies, but she found her place at Countrywide Home Loans, where she worked for several years.

Jane's greatest accomplishment, and inspiration to many, was her marriage to her cherished husband Charles "David" Jones, which withstood the pressures of time for 65 years.

Jane is survived by her husband, David Jones; sons Michael (Staci) Jones of Maryville, and Greg (Penny) Jones of Loudon; grandchildren Julianne (Keith) Jones of Philadelphia, Christina (Robert) Summers of Knoxville, Colten, Cade, and Camden Jones of Loudon; treasured sisters, Pat Moore and Lila McKee of Loudon; brother Rex (Joyce) Langley; and sisters Terry (Mike) Wafford and Lori Rezutko of Georgia; and her dearest sister-in-law Carol Mowles of Florida.
