Sylvia Kessler Obituary
The youngest daughter was born November 11, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late James U. Sockman and Julia M. (Frey) of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Sylvia was a graduate of Hughes High School, Cincinnati, Ohio.
She married Harold H. Kessler on September 30, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio, who preceded her in death August 25, 2001. Those remaining behind include three children: Cynthia L. Kessler of Copley, Ohio; Steven G. (Lisa) Kessler, of Springboro, Ohio; and, Ruth A. (Kim) Shores of Whiteland, Indiana. She also had six grandchildren: Joshua R. (Lara) Rogers, Franklin, Indiana; David M. (Nikki) Robinson, Edwardsville, Illinois; Lynnisa R. (Jeffrey) Byrum, Zionsville, Indiana; Thomas E. Kessler, Springboro, Ohio; Jeffrey (Holly) Robinson, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and, Eric N. Kessler, Pickerington, Ohio; and nine great- grandchildren.
Sylvia retired from WAYTEK Corporation, Franklin, Ohio.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Franklin, Indiana. She loved her flower gardens, but not as much as she loved her family.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Pastor Roger Daene will conduct a Celebration of Sylvia's life on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 North Morton St. in Franklin, Indiana. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, March 19th at 2:30 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2145 Compton Road, Mt. Healthy (Cincinnati), Ohio 45231.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Good Shepherd, Lutheran Church, 1300 S. Morton Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131 or the charity your choice.
