Mrs. Sylvia G. Minnich

Minnich Sylvia G. Minnich, 93, of Conestoga View, Lancaster, PA, formerly of Lititz, passed away at Hospice of Lancaster Co., Essa Flory Center, on Monday, April 30, 2012. Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Warren E. and Florence E. George. She is survived by 3 sons, Douglas L. (Cynthia) Minnich, Lititz, David P. Minnich, Lancaster, James B. (Doris) Minnich, Ephrata; 2 daughters, Sue M. (James) Weaver, Lititz, Lynn J. Hershey, Lancaster; 18 grandchildren, Gary Minnich, Cory Minnich, Wendy Weber, Zach Minnich, Sheri K.M. Witmer, Eric Minnich, Jeffrey S. Minnich, Annette Minnich, Shawn Minnich, Gregory L. Minnich, Troy Minnich, Kim Minnich, Jan Minnich, Nikki D. Zimmerman, Tim J. Weaver, Mike Weaver, Michelle Weaver, Matt Hershey; many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a twin brother Paul and a sister Grace. Sylvia was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and attended Reading School of Nursing. Sylvia was an LPN working for Dr. Landis, Lancaster General Hospital, Duke Convalescent Home and in her retirement she performed private nursing duties. She also operated Minnichs Grocery Store on Broad St in Lititz during the 1940's and '50's. Sylvia loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid reader. Sylvia's Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held at Spacht Funeral Home, 127 S. Broad St., Lititz on Saturday, May 5th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Weber officiating. Private interment at the convenience of the family in Machpelah Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Spacht Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 -1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster Co., P.O.
