Sylvia Munoz, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on August 16, 1953, in Pearsall, Texas, Sylvia was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her, known for her unwavering love and nurturing spirit.
Sylvia was a proud mother to her children, Martin Munoz Jr. (Nanie), Noe Munoz (Selina), and Pedro Hernandez. Each of them carries with them cherished memories of their mother's compassion and wisdom. She was also a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, It's Nazareth Noah Munoz and Alex Munoz, who brought her immense joy and laughter.
A woman of resilience and grace, Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente Gonzalez and Maria Moreno Gonzalez, and her loving husband, Martin Munoz Sr. She also welcomed into eternity her siblings, Albarita Reyes and Pedro "Pio" Carrizales. Their absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who loved her.
In addition to her beloved children and grandchildren, Sylvia is survived by her siblings, Domingo Carrizales, Juan Carrizales, Josefa Carrizales, and Hermelinda Mendoza. Together, they will honor her legacy and remember her kind-hearted nature.
The community is invited to pay their last respects during visitation, which will be held on December 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel and Crematory, located at 203 E. Frio in Pearsall. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM. Sylvia will then be laid to rest during a graveside service on December 31, 2025, at 10:15 AM at Pearsall Catholic Cemetery West on Radio Road County Road 4000, Pearsall.
Sylvia Munoz leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her nurturing spirit, warm smile, and boundless encouragement will be deeply missed, yet celebrated by all who had the privilege to know her.
