Sylvia Ann Singletary, 84, passed away on September 19, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1940, in Abbottsburg, NC, to the late Loris and Curt Yarborough.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Singletary, and her beloved daughter, Marie Singletary.

She is survived by her son, Malcolm G. Singletary of Pittsboro, NC, and his spouse, Tim Richardson; her niece, Beth Storms of Bladenboro, NC; sister-in-law, Doris Vines, and her husband, Fred, and their children/grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mike McLaurin, and his children/grandchildren; and other relatives.

Sylvia was known for her love of music, singing, lively disposition, engaging personality, and, most importantly, her laughter in almost any conversation you had with her.

There will be no official service. Her ashes will be mingled with her daughter's ashes and privately scattered near her parents' graves, her husband's grave, and, also, along the railroad tracks that ran behind her birthplace, as she was known for loving trains and befriending the train engineers.

The family requests no donations or flowers, but asks you to celebrate Sylvia's life in your own way.
