Sylvia Marie Swanson

Sylvia Marie Swanson of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on February 24, 2023, at the age of 64. Sylvia was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 2, 1959, the daughter of Jerry Lynn Chitwood and Hortencia Constance Jean (Garcia) Monsey.
On February 13, 1976, Sylvia married the love of her life, Olin Swanson, in a beautiful ceremony in their hometown of Moore. Their union produced two wonderful children, Christopher, and Marci. Sylvia had a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse, a career she dedicated herself to for over 40 years.
Sylvia was a kind, warm, and thoughtful person who dedicated her life to helping those in need. She cared deeply about her fellow man, always doing anything and everything in her power to help anyone who needed it. Not only did Sylvia care passionately about people, but she was also dedicated to helping animals in need. She adored animals, especially dogs, and over the years was singlehandedly responsible for rescuing many animals in need of unconditional love and a place to call home. Most of all, Sylvia was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be very deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jean Monsey.
Left to cherish Sylvia's memory are her loving husband of 47 years, Olin E. Swanson; two children, Christopher Swanson, and Marci Wilcox; four grandchildren, Cole Swanson, Madison Wilcox, Emily Wilcox, and Ava Wilcox; her father and stepmother, Jerry and Betty Chitwood; along with her brother, Jeffery Chitwood, sister Connie McClemore and her husband Rick, and many more loving extended family and friends.
