T. Naomi Whetzel Obituary


T. Naomi Whetzel, 88 of Mt. Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A graveside service will be held in Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. The family will receive friends and family at Dellinger Funeral Homes, Mt. Jackson on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6-8 P.M.

Naomi was born on August 1, 1936, in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Thelma Garner Mitchell. She worked for PEPCo as a customer information representative. Great Falls Historical Society Photo Archivist. Also, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin E. Whetzel Jr. and two sons, Ross Lee Whetzel and Christopher Irvin Whetzel.

She is survived by 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Dellinger Funeral Homes, Mt. Jackson.

I just now heard this sad news! Naomi and I have been exchanging messages for several years. I worked at Pepco with Irv and Julie for many years! I very saddened to learn of this news my prayers and condolences to the family
