Talmadge Ray "Buddy" Bannister, 91, died Thursday, January 1, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late William Eugene and Ida Elizabeth McCurley Bannister. He was a member of The Belton Church but attended The Belton Church of God. He was a veteran of the US Army. He loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his nieces, Maxine (Jody) LeCroy, Phyllis McAlister and Karla Newton, a nephew, Kevin Bannister, and several Great Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Odell Hanks, Mary Cox, and Jean Bannister; and 3 brothers, William "Skully", Furman and Raymond Bannister and a niece Barbara Whitt.

Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday January 4, 2026, at The Belton Church (formally know as Belton Pentecostal Church) with Rev. Norman Black, Rev. Randy Goff and Rev. Eric Boggs officiating. Burial will be following the service at Belton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to funeral services from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM at The Belton Church.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to B.I.M.A.
