Tamara Cook, 82, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born December 2, 1942, in New Castle to the late William and Deloris (Smith) Winter.
Tamara loved to spend time with family and friends. She attended Spiceland Friends Church and worked at the Soldiers and Sailors Home for 25 years. Tamara enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, cooking, watching TV, playing pool, reading cookbooks and cooking magazines.
She is survived by her children, Rachel (Charles) Hamby, Kris (James) Roberts, Chuck Cook and Sam Cook; grandchildren, Amanda (Rob) Weaver, Stuart (Katie) Hamby, Spencer (Jessica) Hamby, Shane Roberts, Angie (Chris) Brindley, James (Destiney) Roberts, Jr., Tasha (Kevin) Crandall, Jessica Morgan, DeeDee Eden, Jeremiah McIntyre, Trea Cook, Caleb (Kaite) Cook, Carson Cook, Cory (Frankie) Cook, Bradley Cook and Brock Purdue; several great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Donna Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Stephen Winter, Walter Winter; granddaughter, Rebecca Cook; grand daughter-in-law, Beth Cook.
A Celebration of Tamara’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Spiceland Friends Church from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Services have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
