Tamara Falkenstern, 81, of Maplewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 24, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood. The burial service will follow at 1:30 PM at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
Born in Austria, Tamara pursued her academic and professional ambitions in the United States, earning a bachelor's degree in pharmacology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She went on to become the Director of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Novartis, where she was respected for her expertise and dedication.
Tamara is survived by her beloved husband, Mfadel Shomer; her sister, Mary Falkenstern Patterson; and five nieces and nephews who will remember her with great affection.
