Tamara "Tammy" Jean (Hunt) Farthing died on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Blanchard Valley Hospital.Tammy was born on December 21, 1944 in Toledo to William "Bill" and Maxine (Frost) Hunt. She was a 1962 graduate of Findlay High School and a 1965 graduate of St Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. She married Wayne Farthing on June 27, 1965 and they lived in Minnesota and Iowa before relocating back to Findlay. Tammy worked at Blanchard Valley Hospital and as a Red Cross nurse for 15 years before spending the last 15 years of her career as a hospice nurse, both with Bridge Hospice in Findlay and later at Hospice of NW Ohio in Perrysburg. She was a strong advocate for her patients and their families, who often referred to her as an "angel". She was also a 20-year cancer survivor.While her passion was for helping people and for her nursing career, her love was for her family.She is survived by her four sons: Tad (Jessica) Farthing, Findlay; Travis (Natalie) Farthing, Findlay; Trent (Allison) Farthing, Findlay; and Troy (Emily) Farthing, Arlington. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Melissa, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Henry and Sawyer Farthing; two step-grandchildren Molli (Nathan) Friese, and Eli Patterson; along with a nephew Alec Hunt (Rhonda) and a niece Andrea Harless. She was preceded in death by her parents,Bill and Maxine Hunt, her brother Blaze Hunt, and her husband Wayne Farthing.
A gathering of family a friends will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. She will be cremated in accordance with her wishes. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Tammy to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
