Tamara Pigg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory - Springhill Chapel on Feb. 6, 2026.
Tamara "Tammy" Villa Pigg (Nelson), age 73, of Webster, Minnesota, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2026. She was born on October 12, 1952, to Ben and Lorraine Nelson, who preceded her in death.

Tammy lived her life firmly rooted in faith, guided by compassion, and marked by a sincere love for others. She was selfless and always oriented toward caring for those around her. Her life reflected the grace and mercy she believed in so deeply.

Tammy attended Rochester State, where she studied nursing, an expression of her God-given heart for service. Her compassion extended far beyond her profession and into daily life through quiet acts of kindness, encouragement, and steadfast support.

In the winter of 1978, Tammy met the love of her life, Dan Pigg. They were united in marriage on September 6, 1980, beginning a partnership grounded in faith, devotion, and enduring love. After their marriage, Tammy and Dan made their home in Terre Haute, Indiana, where Tammy poured her heart into building not only a household, but a foundation of faith, friendship, and service. Through her kindness, steadiness, and welcoming spirit, she became a beloved part of the community. Tammy never missed a chance to cheer on her favorite teams, especially when her sons or grandson were playing. She was their biggest supporter and proudest fan.

Tammy was deeply proud of her Danish and Minnesotan heritage, carrying with her the values of strength, resilience, and appreciation for traditions that defined both. Her Danish roots were reflected in fierce independence, her love for Danish treats, and cozy gatherings, while her Minnesotan spirit shone through in her deep appreciation for the outdoors, wildlife, and the peaceful beauty of the North. She could always be found complaining about Indiana's heat and humidity. Whenever possible, Tammy, Dan and the boys returned north to vacation in the Boundary Waters, a place that held deep meaning for her. Surrounded by still waters, towering pines, and God's creation, she found peace, reflection, and renewal. Those trips became treasured times of rest, laughter, and connection; allowing moments where her love of family, nature, and faith were fully intertwined.

She delighted in life's simple blessings: traveling, cows and dogs, cheerful gnomes, Danish pastries, the color blue, and fishing on the water. She loved the music of the Righteous Brothers and found deep comfort and worship in the hymn How Great Thou Art. Any chance she got, she turned ordinary days into celebrations filled with treating her family, especially her nieces and nephews, to shopping trips, shared meals, fresh nails, and endless laughter. She will forever be remembered for her bold colors, all the bling, bright smile that lit up every room, and always buying little gifts and presents for those she loved, especially all her dogs!

Above all, Tammy's faith anchored her life and provided encouragement through difficult times. She will always be remembered as one of the strongest fighters that never gave up, no matter what life threw her way. Her favorite scripture, Romans 8:1, was a constant source of hope and reassurance and a reminder of God's grace and the freedom found in Christ.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Dan Pigg; her sons, Andrew Pigg (Amka) and Joey Pigg (Hannah); and her cherished grandson, Alex Pigg, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy.

Tammy leaves behind a legacy of family, heritage, and community. While she will be deeply missed, her family and friends find comfort in knowing she is at peace, embraced by God's eternal promise.

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1
