Tamara J. Simmons, affectionately known as Tami to her loved ones, was a beacon of light and love in the lives of all who knew her. Born on February 11, 1974, in
Omaha, Nebraska, Tami's journey through life was one marked by dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to her faith and family. On December 29, 2025, in
Phoenix, Arizona, Tami's earthly chapter concluded due to a pulmonary embolism, but her spirit and legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come.
Tami's life was a testament to the power of education and the impact one individual can have on the world. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University and later completing a Master's degree in Educational Technology at California State University, Northridge, she embarked on a career that saw her touch countless lives. Whether she was in the classroom as a teacher, sharing her faith as a religious school teacher, leading innovative projects at NASA, or teaching the art of musical theatre dance, Tami's zeal for learning and teaching was infectious. Her role as a Project Manager at the Jewish Community Center was not merely a job but a calling, where she harnessed her organizational skills and compassionate heart to serve her community.
Grounded in her Jewish faith, Tami lived a life of purpose, guided by the principles of kindness, love, and thoughtfulness. Her religion was not just a belief system but a way of life that she embodied in every interaction and endeavor.
Tami's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She was a cherished wife to Ed Simmons, a nurturing mother to her children Xander, Braxtyn, and Maddox Simmons, and a beloved daughter to Susan and Sheldon Babendure. Her brother Jeremy Babendure also held a special place in her heart, as they shared a bond of sibling love and mutual respect.
The joys of Tami's life were simple yet profound. Watching her daughter's soccer games, applauding her sons' acting roles, and enjoying the company of her friends were moments she treasured deeply. These experiences were not mere pastimes but opportunities to connect, support, and celebrate the achievements of those she loved.
In the spirit of a motivational speaker, let us reflect on the lessons Tami's life imparts. She taught us that to be loving is to be present, to be kind is to be generous with our spirit, and to be thoughtful is to consider the impact of our words and actions on others. Let Tami's memory remind us to live with intention, to embrace our passions, and to nurture the connections that give our lives meaning.
As we bid farewell to Tami, let us carry forward the light she has left in our world. Her spirit, teachings, and love will continue to guide us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have set on the horizon. May her memory be a blessing and a source of strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
