Tammy Bagent Obituary
She was born in Terre Haute, IN in 1968 to Richard and Phyllis Pinnell. After graduating from Elston High School in Michigan City in 1986, Tammy joined the United States Army and served until honorable discharge in 1988 due to the birth of her first child. She went on to study computer science at Purdue University before beginning her career with the Porter County Government. Tammy moved on to Computer Services Incorporated, where she worked as a software engineer for many years.
Tammy is preceded in death by her father, Richard Pinnell. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Pinnell, brothers Jeffrey and Michael Pinnell, two children William Bohn Jr. and Brandi (Steffan) Spear, and two grandchildren, Arlo and Owen Spear.
Tammy was a loving Oma who enjoyed regular trips to the zoo with her grandkids. Tammy loved dogs and enjoyed spending time playing Frisbee with her own dog, Janis.
Services for Tammy will be held at Bartholomew Funeral Home, located at 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso, IN 46383 on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 3-7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Porter County Animal Shelter in Tammy's name.

Back in 1986, stationed at Fort Bliss, TX, I was ascending the staircase to the barracks of our Army unit. That's when Tammy (Pinnel) Bagent appeared as a shining star that decended from heaven.
I was instantly smitten by Tammy's smile and soon we became close friends.
Tammy introduced to the world as I was nothing more than an empty sheet of canvas. She taught me to view the world outside my sheltered upbringing. Though we only communicated a few times between 1988 and 2022, she remained the woman beyond my grasp.
Today (8/31/24) I attempted to reach out to her, I saw she had departed this world and I learned how quick one's joy could drop away.
I will hold fast to my memories of Tammy and though I have never met her children, she spoke to me about them.
Tammy, your candle will forever burn bright in my soul and be cherished as gold and silver.
