Carl Franklin Bagent Jr., age 80, of Howard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1944, in Newark, Ohio, the son of Carl and Yvonne (Carey) Bagent Sr. Carl was a 1962 graduate of the Mount Vernon Academy and worked numerous years for Drexel Thrash in Howard and Herald's Appliances.
Carl attended the Newark Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an "engineer without an engineering degree," as Carl could find the problem and fix about anything. Whether it was an appliance, an engine or a drone, Carl could fix it, and sometimes he could do that by just listening to it. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl (Jones) Bagent, whom he married on March 10, 1975, his children, Jennifer (D.J.) Joerger of Mount Vernon, Justin Bagent of Mount Vernon, Carol Ann (Wayne) Miller of Johnstown, seven grandchildren, Lexi and Zach Joerger, Ozlynn, Aceia and Zayden Bagent, Nicole and Jacob Miller, and a sister, Susanne Swartz of St. Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Carl Franklin Bagent Jr.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
