Tammy Kay Brandis, age 65, of Highbridge, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at home where she lost the battle with cancer. She was born on March 15, 1959, in Park Falls, the daughter of Kenneth Standen and Elaine (Pohl) Brassington. She was raised in Glidden where she graduated from high school. She immediately started work at Columbia Forest Products in Mellen where she remained for 46+ years until she retired in 2024. In the fall of 1982, she met George Brandis, and they were married on August 27, 1983. They welcomed a daughter, Kayla Elaine, in 1986.
Tammy enjoyed all kinds of music. She attended many concerts over the years. She would not just sit and listen; she loved to dance until her feet hurt. Some of her favorite bands were AC/DC, Foreigner, ZZ Top, Paul Cauthen, Aerosmith, Melissa Etheridge, Joyann Parker, and Head East. Her love of music inspired her to take piano lessons and she played for many years. Tammy had many collections-- Tie-dyed T-shirts, jewelry, minions, pens, shoes, to name a few. While traveling, if there was a T-shirt or pen to save as a souvenir, she would not hesitate to add to her collection. Animals were a big part of her life. She enjoyed her pets but also volunteered at the animal shelter. She spent many years feeding the local wildlife. While initially upset when George brought home a new motorcycle, she grew to enjoy their rides together taking in the beautiful scenery. Her most recent hobby was making bracelets. She taught herself various designs through watching YouTube videos and loved gifting them to friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, George, daughter Kayla (Jake) Rieb, granddaughter Juniper; and step-daughters Heather Brandis and Kristie Coard; step-grandchildren Quinn, Riley, Josalyn, Khanu, and Ayzlin, and step-great-grandson Kai. Sisters Deborah (Dan) Hildebrandt, Renee (Jeff) Yurek, and Jodi (Tim) Hilgart, and brother Richard Brassington; mother-in-law Lois Brandis, brothers and sisters-in-law Ed and Cindy Brandis, Patty and Clint Nelson, Sandy and Kevin Burns, David Brandis, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Kenneth and Elaine.
