Tammy Arlene Howe, from Evans, GA was called home to be with her Savior on December 17, 2024. Born in Biloxi, MS on October 24, 1967, Tammy lived a full life even at the age of 57 when she succumbed to the effects of Alzheimer's disease. She peacefully passed into her Lord’s presence in her home with her family by her side.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Cary Howe, daughter, Emery Lovell (Ethan Lovell), and son Graham Howe. She was born to Thomas Bachman and Ramona Datema Bachman. She is also survived by her sisters, Deena Knight (Eric), Christa Dunlap (Randy), and brother, Matt Bachman (Janette). Not to be forgotten is her loyal dog, Buddy.
Tammy was an Educator by vocation and received a BS in Education from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC in 1990. She also earned a Master of Education Administration degree from Clemson University in Clemson, SC in 1998. After a career of teaching and administration in both public education and private education she poured her experience and expertise into homeschooling her two children. Tammy also mentored other homeschoolers in the curriculum she utilized as a homeschool consultant.
In addition to her career Tammy was a loving wife and mother who sacrificed much of her time and energy for her family and community. Her only hobby was her love for running which brought her much satisfaction and medals in 4 marathons, several half marathons, and many other races. She regularly threw herself into her children’s extracurricular activities like sports and violin lessons. She served on the board of the Augusta Eagles Homeshool Volleyball program while her daughter participated. She was a member at Westside Baptist Church in Martinez where she was active in the choir, nursery ministry, and the Awana program. In 2022 she was also a breast cancer survivor.
On Saturday 12/21/24 there will be a viewing at 10:00 AM at the Chapel at Warren Baptist Church 3203 Washington Rd. Augusta, GA 30907. Following the viewing will be a memorial service at 11:30 AM at the same location. She will be laid to rest at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC on Sunday 12/22/2024 with a gravesite service at 3:00 PM.
