  Tammy Rene (Ramsey) Smith, 63, of Norris City, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.  She was born on July 5, 1959, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Tommy Lee and Margo Ann (Lewis) Ramsey. Tammy married Stanley Robert Smith on January 18, 2003, and he survives. She worked as an LPN at Phoenix Rehab in Evansville, Indiana. Tammy was a member of the Carmi Church of the Nazarene, where she served as Trustee, and oversaw the church finances.

     In addition to her husband, Stanley Smith of Norris City, IL, Tammy is survived by her mother and step-father, Margo and Ronald Hall of Norris City, IL; her son, Joshua (Heather) Johnson of Carmi, IL; adopted grandchildren who she raised, Gavin Lee Smith of Norris City, IL, Chloe Ann Smith of Mt. Vernon, IN, Zeke Smith of Norris City, IL, and Allie Grace Smith of Norris City, IL; grandchildren, Praiselynn Carron and Gracelyn Carron; great-grandchild, London Xavier Smith; step-son, Brandon (Cassie) Smith and a grandson, Triston of Carmi, IL; siblings, Teresa (Mark) Barger of Norris City, IL, Mandi (Kelly) Johnson of Norris City, IL, and Tim (Sherri) Ramsey of Harrisburg, IL; mother of the adopted grandchildren, Pamela (Oliver) Kaufmann of Mt. Vernon, IN; nieces and nephews, Clayton (Jasea) Wall, Miranda, Trenton, and Justin (Alyssa) Johnson, Gerrick Williams and Bryan (Brittney) Ramsey and Ruth Raben; sister-in-law, Kim Smith of New Haven, IL She is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Lee Ramsey, and a nieces, Natalie Williams and Heather Ramsey.

     Funeral services for Tammy Smith will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with burial at Union Ridge Cemetery in Norris City, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tammy's memory to Carmi Church of the Nazarene and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, who is in charge of arrangements.
